September 23, 2015 (Elgin, IL) – Michael Alan Peck announced today that he will be at the Gail Borden Library in Elgin, IL on October 15, 2015 from 7:00 – 8:30PM to read from and discuss his novel The Journeyman.
Michael Alan Peck recently won the second annual Soon to be Famous Illinois Author Project, a statewide contest to find the best self-published novel by an Illinois author. He won the contest for The Journeyman, a dark, thrilling, contemporary fantasy novel that is recommended for both teens and adults.
The Journeyman tells the story of three people who board a bus and – following a horrific accident – must band together as the last hope for the afterlife, known to them as The Commons.
“This novel combines the best of magical realism and quest genres. The characters are richly drawn and the plot is tight and suspenseful… I inhaled this book in two sittings, and can’t wait for future installments!” – Reviewed on Amazon
“In The Journeyman by Michael Alan Peck, it’s a land where, in the Beatles’ words, ‘nothing is real’ and where a talking mummy, a man with a slot-machine handle for an arm and a woman with zebra stripes and a tail are just ‘everyday people’… The Journeyman is a fantasy book, but it’s also a work of humor. Many of the strange creatures you’ll meet in the book may be frightening, but they’re also very entertaining.” – Reviewed on Readers Favorite
During the appearance, Michael will read from and discuss The Journeyman. Readers will then have the chance to ask questions and have their copy signed by the author.
The Gail Borden Library is located at 270 North Grove Avenue, Elgin, IL 60120. The event, located in the Elgin Room, is open to the public and there is no admission charge. Copies of The Journeyman will be available for sale at the event.

Irvine, CA (September 21, 2015) – Author J. Frank James announced today that he will be offering a Kindle Countdown Deal for his book Rainbow Games. The eBook will be discounted on Amazon from September 21 through September 28, 2015. Rainbow Games is an action packed crime thriller. It is the fourth book in the Lou Malloy Crime Series.
Lou Malloy never expected to hear from his brother, Sam, and especially not under such strange circumstances. Though he was convinced his brother was in trouble, Lou was torn between wanting to help and his ability to trust him. Hilary, on the other hand, was not convinced. Lou had never mentioned a brother and as far as she was concerned he needed to stay lost. After learning of his brother’s recent acquisition of a seafood operation in a place called Unalaska, Lou begins to question the legitimacy of his brother’s recent enterprise.
However, any doubts he had needed to be put aside because Lou had bigger problems. He had a small job to do for Max Reynolds at Homeland Security. It seemed that Russia was working to get Alaska back from the United States because they claim they were never paid for it, and Malloy and Kelly had to find proof that they did. In addition, there was another shipment of gold sent by the United States in 1869 to back up the initial payment fiasco that had been lost as well.
If things weren’t complicated enough, an heir to the great Mongol leader, Genghis Khan, rightfully named Sala Khan, now wants to restore the lands of eastern Russia to its prominence on the world political stage. To do this he needs to start World War Three and Malloy and Kelly have to figure out how to stop him.
“James takes the general world of suspense and turns it on its head, looking at it from the opposite side. He polarizes the world and makes it palpable and enjoyable. Suspense and plot twists abound as we journey alongside these characters.” – Jonel Boyko

September 3, 2015 (Park Rapids, MN) – Sarah M. Johnson announced today that she will be at Beagle and Wolf Books & Bindery in Park Rapids, MN on September 19, 2015 at 12:00PM to meet with readers and sign copies of her new book Life is Beautiful: How a Lost Girl Became a True, Confident Child of God.
Beagle and Wolf Books & Bindery is located at 112 3rd St. W., Park Rapids MN 56470. The event is open to the public and there is no admission charge. Copies of Life is Beautiful will be available for sale at the event.
Life is Beautiful: How a Lost Girl Became a True, Confident Child of God, by Sarah M. Johnson, takes you on a full journey of trauma, loss, and finally resilience. While on a mission’s trip in Guatemala, a small Cessna Caravan’s engine blows while carrying fourteen passengers. Unfortunately, the Cessna crashes in a remote village, leaving eleven of the fourteen passengers dead. One passenger, Sarah, shares her story in Life is Beautiful, about the deaths of her father and brother; her mother’s extreme physical and emotional injuries, and Sarah’s self-discovery to accept this new life.
Life is Beautiful, however, is more than a story about an airplane crash. Life is Beautiful shares the personal struggles of Sarah’s father’s drug use, his recovery, and redemption to be a better person. He gives back by doing missions work in Africa, takes in Sarah’s aunt dying of uterine cancer, and eventually leads their family to the mountains of Guatemala. Sarah also discusses her struggles with alcohol use and depression; where she eventually hits rock bottom. It is not until she starts seeking God through prayer, books, and therapy, where she starts to turn her life around.
Life is Beautiful is not only a unique story, but it shows the strength of God’s Will. When all hope is lost, she never gives up on God. This story is a true testimony of God’s love for His people, and when one seeks a spiritual journey and connection with God; He gives back in love, forgiveness, and happiness.
